Out of Gas!
I give up! Looks like I may be walking to work. I have been to three gas stations to get gas and this is what they ALL look like. I hate those yellow bags! Is it like this everywhere?! It seems like since they started enforcing the 'price gouging' law, nobody has gas.
I need to vent here for a minute.
The 'price gouging' law is WRONG! Supply and demand should dictate prices. Let compitition in pricing work. If your gas is too high, I will go somewhere else or pay your price. That is my choice.
Is there really a logical reason for EVERY gas station between my house and my work (20 miles) to be out of gas? NO!
N.C. price-gouging law promotes gas lines, shortages (read full article)
RALEIGH -- Consumers can blame North Carolina's price-gouging law for the gas lines and shortages appearing in the wake of Hurricane Ike. That's the assessment of a John Locke Foundation analyst who has studied the unintended consequences of price-gouging legislation.
"Gas station owners are afraid to raise prices in light of threats of prosecution from state government," said Dr. Roy Cordato, JLF Vice President for Research and Resident Scholar. "Because those owners refuse to raise prices, consumers continue to flock to the pumps, and the stations run the risk of running out of gas."

Happy Birthday to my wonderful son. I am the luckiest mother in the world!! I can't believe I will be sitting in the passengers seat now, while you drive. Just remember you will never be too old to give me hugs and kisses. I am proud of you!

The Great Crayon Caper
Do you have broken crayons that eventually end up in the trash? Why not join The Great Crayon Caper.
In an effort to put a crayon in every kid's hand and not the landfills, we are embarking on the Great Crayon Caper. Our mission is simple… take old unwanted broken crayons and bits of crayon and restore them to brand new and place them in the hands of every little budding Picasso. There are currently 4.7 million children in the US alone with learning disabilities (Source: CDC).
Here's how you can help…
During the month of September, sign up to be a part of our Crayon Caper Crew and we will reward you with our signature color crayons {pink & brown} and fun activity coloring book.
Collecting crayons is a family affair; a great way for kids to be introduced to the concept of recycling. So sign up here and we will send you a postcard explaining how and where to send your crayons. Once your shipment is received, we will mail your free crayons & activity book. We will have your crayons melted down and transformed into shiny new chunky crayons that are the perfect size for little hands. These crayons will be donated to schools, hospitals and care centers.

Promise Activ Supershots
I was diagnosed and started taking blood pressure medicine when I was 25 yrs old. It was unexpected and rather scarey. Thanks to products like SuperShots, I have not had to take medication to control my blood pressure for years.
Promise SuperShots are essential fruit blends which provide a good source of potassium consistent with the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) eating plan which has been clinically proven to lower blood pressure.
Potassium helps flush sodium from the body, which may reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
Each 3oz Promise SuperShot contains 350 mg of potassium. The U.S. Dietary Guidelines recommend 4,700 mg of potassium through a diet rich in potassium such as fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products.
Visit SaltHappens.com for information on the Promise Heart Coach Program and sign up for a personalized plan to transform your lifestyle.

...and all for just $17.22
I think I did pretty good on my "triple coupon" trip. I was almost out of sugar so, I stocked up on it. My kids (and me) love Quaker Oatmeal To Go. I am not home when they leave for school and if breakfast isn't something they can grab on the way out the door, they won't take the time to eat.
Since I did not need anything as far as groceries, $17.22 is my total grocery spending for the week.
