How much does it cost to raise a child?

My state child support office says with both parents supporting the children equally, it should cost a little more than $1 a month to support 4 children.
I just felt the need to share this. It is a copy of the actual child support payment I received for this month....for 4 children, 2 in college. It represents a typical payment. I know that I can get quite a lot from CVS and Walgreens for .54 cents but, this is ridiculous!
