Sheetz

Candle's
What do you do with all those free candles you got? After burning them instead of throwing what is left in the bottom of the jar away, I decided to make my own.
I bought some small bowls that match my kitchen and candle wicks (from A.C. Moore's $1.50/pk of 10)
The easiest way I found to do it is to place a pot of boiling water on the stove, place the jar of the used candle in the boiling water to melt the wax and remove the used wick.
Put the new wick in the bowl and pour the melted candle wax in the bowl. Let that wax cool while you melt the next one to pour in. (It helps to let the fist one cool a little so the wick stands up straight)
Be creative and use different things for different rooms in your home or reuse the jar the candle came in for an even cheaper *new* candle.
Christmas At My House
This was Christmas at my house and I would like to share a little with you.
I usually go all out decorating at Christmas but, I didn't this year. I put stockings on the fireplace in the living room and decorated my tree, that was it.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I know lots of people cut back on their spending this year but, I was not one of them. Every year I set a limit of what I will spend on each person and never stick to it. I must say, this year was no different.
Thankfully, I put away enough money during the year to be able to splurge on Christmas using cash only. I could not begin to remember everything I bought but, everyone received at least one large gift (money wise).
Some of the large items I purchased were: 1 flat screen tv, 2 GPS’s, 2 laptops, 2 stereos, 1 PSP, Car window tinting, Camera, and a stand alone ice maker (for the lake)
I received a Wii, Wii Fit, and a bunch of extra Wii games. The dance one is hilarious!!
This is me (and trust me, I won't leave it here long) embarrassing myself TRYINGto dance to the Wii my husband got me. My daddy (sitting on the sofa in the video) got a good laugh out of it! **this was my first try** LOL

Low Sales?!
I do not want to hear any more about low sales! My pet peeve is when a store advertises a product in a sales paper and then gets one (1) in the store to sell. What?! They advertise to millions of people, do not offer rain checks, admittedly received ONE available to sell at that price, and wonder why I get upset!
To the WalMart Sales Associate: I realise this is not your fault and I apologize for going over your head. I know you were just doing your job and telling me what you were told to say. However, if you can not resolve the problem I am having I, as a customer, feel it is my right to take it to the next level.
To the WalMart Department Manager: Thank you for checking to see how many of the product actually were delivered to the store. I understand you have no control over this but, it certainly helped when I went to your boss.
To the WalMart Store Manager: I am glad that after trying to make me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about, you saw things my way. See, I went through everybody before coming to you and got all the information I needed to know exactly what I was talking about. You looked silly trying to get the Department Manager to tell me you got 8 in to sell after she had already showed me the delivery printout.
Although you do not give rain checks, I will take you up on your offer. You gave me your card with all the product information on it (including price) and told me that you would call me personally as soon as another one came in and guarantee it at that price. (By the way, that is called a rain check)

Merry Christmas 2008!
I hope each and every one of you have a Merry Christmas
I have had a hard time getting into the Christmas Spirit this year being that I lost my mother 1 month ago tomorrow. Family was always the most important thing in her life so, I have done much reflecting today. I am and will be sad but, I will not let it affect my family's Christmas.
My daddy is coming to visit the 26th after spending Christmas Day with my sisters and brother's families. I am looking forward to spending time with him so postings will be very limited.

Too much time on my hands
My hats off to anybody that is a stay at home parent but, I couldn't do it! I am off work for 2 weeks and I am continually looking for something to do.
There is an alcove where the wall/ceiling slants in one of our bedrooms so, I decided to put "words" on the wall.

Organizing
I have found the easiest way to organize my shoes is to take a picture of them and tape it to the end of the box. I know just which box to go to for the shoes I want to wear instead of having to open them up.
I do the same thing for shoes sill in their origional box.
Our Newest Family Member
My husband decided he needed a 'fishing buddy' so, we got a Chesapeake Bay Retriever yesterday since they are great water dogs. She is almost 4 months old and already weighs 47lbs. She should almost double in size by the time she is grown. I guess I better start clipping those dog food coupons.
Bah Humbug!!...and it's Targets fault
I finished all my Christmas shopping weeks ago because I refuse to go shopping the week of Christmas. Yesterday we got a present out to get it set up and ready only to find that it had been previously purchased and returned to Target before I bought it. It was password protected. Arggggg! Off to Target I go, along with 1,953,105 other people.
I returned the product to customer service with no problems at all and go to electronics to get a new one. After waiting about 40 minutes for my turn to be waited on (there were 3 people ahead of me) I tell the clerk what I need and he says "we are out of them". Did he look? No! That would have required looking somewhere else since the sign said "see sales associate for this product". I explained that I bought this 3 months ago for this very reason. I didn't care where he had to find one from but, I wanted a new working one. Amazingly, all of a sudden, they had 1 left just for me.
I asked could he please plug it in to make sure it worked before I left. I thought this was a reasonable request being that I spent over $500 on it and had a problem with the origional one. Mike B. did not agree with me. "That is not my job", "I don't have time", "I have other people to wait on"....Oh no you don't! I waited my turn, now they can wait theirs.
I learned that Mike B. is sick of retail and through with it. (I hope to make his wish come true) I asked him since he was waiting on me at the moment, to please plug it in and see if it worked. He raised his voice and said, "did you not hear what I said?!" Well, Mike B. I sure did and now so has the front end manager (who found an outlet in another part of the store for me to plug the item in), the store manager, the district supervisor, and the 1-800 Target operator.
