I won't be posting anything this weekend because we are once again going out of town. (Just when my monthly spending was looking pretty good)
I got some pretty good news this week that is sure to help out.
1) I got a raise. Yep, you read that right. When other people's income is dwindling...I got a raise!
2) I got a (hefty) bonus!!! Wooohoooo!!!!
3) DH got the same raise I did AND the same bonus!! That makes it doubly good.
4) I am buying me a Red Mustang GT Convertible this weekend. (Bet you were wondering what that picture of a car had to do with anything)
5) Best of all, I am going to visit my daddy for the weekend. They finally got my mother's headstone in this week and it is worth driving the 500 miles to get there to see it :)

My favorite cashiers
I have my favorites....my 2 favorite cashiers in the world!
Anybody who uses coupons knows exactly what I mean. These two know how to scan coupons, know how to price adjust coupons, never roll thier eyes when you hand them 100 coupons, and are just as excited as I am at how much I saved at the end of the transaction.
All tht said, I understand one of my favorite cashiers (you now know who he is) sent some people to visit my blog. If that is you, I will do the best I can to match up the sales with coupons from his store for you this week.

Valentine Clearance
I decided to see what WalMart had on clearance from Valentine's Day and here is what I found:
My daughter is a teacher so, I am always on the lookout for craft projects she can use. These foam hearts are just the thing for a classroom full of 5yr olds to make something really special for Mother's Day. ($1.24)
These do not look 'Valentine's' to me and are going to be used on Easter Baskets. ($.24 each)
These are the cutest stuffed animals and with a few snips of some thread...no longer "Valentine's". They were intended for my granddaughter to play with when she is here....
As you can see, one disappeared. My (youngest) daughter must have thought the monkey was too cute because she took it for herself. ($1.75 each)Address Labels

Taxes
It is Friday and I should be in a good mood since my work week is over. Oh no! Instead, I decide to do our taxes today.
Why exactly are some people able to get a Child Tax Credit but, NOT ME?! Is it really fair to base it on income? I think not. A child is a child, give the credit to all, or give it to none.
Why can we not have a flat tax rate? Is it fair for somebody to work hard, and make more money just to have to pay higher taxes than somebody who makes less? Wouldn't paying an equal portion of our income for taxes be fairer?!
My list goes on and on ....

Medical Trial Update
I posted about a medical trial that I am involved in HERE. So far it has been a good experience for me. The reason I decided to participate was because I felt like the medication could help me. The money I get at each visit is just icing on the cake.
I am not sure how I would feel about participating if the testing were in the earlier stage but, being that it is in the final stages of testing, I feel confident of its safety. It is just a matter of time (as soon as my trial is over) before it is approved by the FDA.
If you have thought about doing a medical trial make sure it is through a very reputable doctor that you trust, your health is what is most important. You can find a listing of some trials HERE listed by area.
